I don't really like running two mesmers in the same party. And because Mesmer is pretty much the only class I play, I often feel reluctant to take gwen with me. But I like Glyph of Renewal, Ill have a play around with it.

I gave her
Cry of Frustration
Power Drain
Power Block
Empathy
Power Spike
Rez Signet
Mistrust
Auspicious Incantation
I play as an illusion Mesmer
I just wait till the enemy group bunches up and cast Arcane Conundrum
Then I run in, and Gwen interrupts, A LOT!
Power Block's usefulness also knows no bounds when I fight bosses

I run a Domination Mesmer, and leave Gwen to Illusion:
My bar:
[skill]Energy Surge[/skill][skill]Empathy[/skill][skill]Backfire[/skill][skill]Wastrel's Worry[/skill] or [skill]Wastrel's Demise[/skill][skill]Mistrust[/skill][skill]Drain Enchantment[/skill][skill]Power Spike[/skill] or [skill]Inspired Hex[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
Your typical damage build
Gwen's bar:
[skill]Ineptitude[/skill][skill]Conjure Phantasm[/skill][skill]Images of Remorse[/skill][skill]Clumsiness[/skill][skill]Signet of Clumsiness[/skill][skill]Wandering Eye[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill] or [skill]Leech Signet[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]
Basically, I take care of the casters and add a little damage to melee chars with Empathy and she takes care of the melee and adds a little to the casters with the interrupt skill.

In the far Shiverpeacks areas, packed with water eles, I like to run dual e-surge e-burn power leak mesmers with gwen, and deliver nice big spikes with aneurysm (255 dmg after a well done power leak happen often).

I'm currently running Gwen with a ringbearer type build.
Ether Feast
Signet of Distraction
Signet of Disruption
Leech Signet
Unnatural Signet
Signet of Humility
Keystone Signet [E]
Resurrection Signet
The only issue I've found with her using this build is that she sometimes doesn't use her Keystone Signet to its full potential (using it too soon), and she tries to use it to recharge the rez signet after she's used it. I'm seriously considering disabling it so I can take more control over when she uses it. Although by and large, she's brutally effective with this build.

i do with this build all elona vanished ..

I use a build very similar to that in the tarnished coast, its a very nice build, especially with Wandering Eye, which seems to be Mistrust for Melee.
When I'm elsewhere, I generally run this build, which is particularly effective in the Charr Lands:
Pain Inverter[skill]Empathy[/skill][skill]Energy Burn[/skill][skill]Hex Eater Vortex[/skill][skill]Cry of Frustration[/skill][skill]Power Spike[/skill][skill]Power Drain[/skill][skill]Mirror of Disenchantment[/skill]

I found Hex Eater Vortex to be much easier to cap from the boss in the Gate of Desolation mission, just requires you to play through it a bit to get to him.
Reason why I love Hex Eater Vortex in the Charrlands so much is because there is usually a ne around to cast suffering on your party, which makes it so easy to stand in a bunch of Charr warriors and remove your hex with HEV, stripping all their Conjure Flame enchantments.

Out of interest does Gwen only use Ancestor's Visage on herself, or on whoever is being hit by melee?

Your heros suck? Which heros do you run with?
I always run with Tahlkora (all healing/divine), Olias (MM) and Koss (sword).
All 3 heros have runes and insignias and max (usually purple) gear. Lately, I've been using all my near-perfect runes to outfit their weapons.
For example, Koss has like a 14^50 req12 firery dragon sword with a 20/17 and +26 health. Hardly perfect, but quite good for a hero. He also has a nice collector shield from NF.
I also gave all 3 full sets of runes and insignias so they can take and dish out more punishment.
Let me tell you, the difference is staggering, compared to leaving those heros with the crappy gear they came with.
On average, the runes (+2 energy or +2 to skills or +1 to skills) run about 6-8k per full set (you have to buy 5 runes and 5 insignias).
6-8k may sound like a lot to new players, but it is totally worth it.
End result = I no longer say my heros suck. :-)

Far from sucking in PvE, I've just leveled up a Mesmer (wow, Factions is fast, made the character on Monday and in only playing for a few afters after getting home, I hit level 20 last night) - and I love taking another Mesmer along.
After getting GW:EN I started noticing that my casters were getting notably more effective when I brought Gwen along, so I started using Mesmer henchies on the lower level characters. I shied away from the idea on my own Mesmer at first - but after trying it with two of them in some of the missions I noticed that just about everytime I hit a moment were too many of my skills were recharging, the henchie mesmer was picking up the slack - and vice versa.
With two of them, my other heroes and henchies barely need to be anything useful, because by the time they get to meeting the enemy, I've reduced that enemy down to a couple of rubes standing around looking dumb.
Now if I can learn to actually play my new Mesmer effectively, this will become obscenely effective.
So my only thoughts for a Gwen build at this point are to give her whatever I would want if I could have a skillbar of 16 skills - Build a double build, because you're going to be best if you're working off of each other.
Beyond that, I'm too much of a 'Mesmer newbie' to say anything.

Well I myself love the fact having Gwen as an option.
If I play a degen build (Me/N) I take her as a "dominatrix" with some interrupts, backfire, emphaty and so on...
She does the nasty work, I don't wanna do at that time....
Really relaxing, for she gets real hard interrupts (even in hardmode, partially better than me )
Also she looks very good with deldrimor armor and as you know, the eye also plays ^^

I saw this and HAD to rip this for my own use, it is so much fun. What I normally do is use "Throw Assassin" (ebon vanguard sin support. >>), Pain Inverter and depending on the situation I add either Empathy, Backfire or Asuran Scan. Holy crap though, I do not want to imagine how devastating Sin Support + Asuran scan is since I've yet to test it.
Just out of curiosity though, how are your attributes lined up. ATM I got 12+1+1 Illusion, 9 Dom and 9+1 FC running as a Me/E for Glyph of Lesser. Problem is that suprisingly I havent needed the glyph so I was hoping somthing else may work

My setup is 16 Illusion (your summon is lvl 21 at 16), 13 FC and 3 dom. I use SoI + arcane thievery to steal spells (ie. from charr flame shielder, you are in luck you will steal its MS), echo it if you steal a good spell. If you are encountering foes like monks, use both thievery spells without SoI to shut its spells down every 11 seconds.
The dwarven skills are just for support tho, I like running around showing off my lvl 21 summon

Interesting tips actually, I like your echo advice alot. Me though, for alot of bosses I use Pain Inverter + Emapthy/Backfire depending on the dungeon and it works wonders. Fighting a barrage boss with Inverter+Empathy on him is great seeing 5 80's and 5 43's flying around like mad.
Thanks for the tips, I am heading into charr territory soon so your shutdown/MS steal tricks help alot.
